- Boyhood Hometown of Walt Disney – Marceline is famously known as the childhood home of Walt Disney, who spoke of the small town as a great inspiration for his life, and for the creation of Disneyland. Marceline is located on located on Highway 36, also known as the Way of American Genius, which honors famous Missourians like Mark Twain, General Pershing, J. C. Penny, and of course, Walt Disney.
- Rich Railroad Heritage – Marceline was founded as a railroad town in 1888 and was a division point for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. Many railroad families made Marceline their home, and two Main Lines still bring 70 trains a day through town.
- Home of the Walt Disney Hometown Museum – The Museum is housed in the old Santa Fe Railway depot and contains an incredible collection of Disney family artifacts, personal letters, and Disney history. A must-visit for serious Disney fans from here and around the world.
- Historic Downtown District – The Downtown Marceline Foundation works with local building and business owners to help keep Walt’s memories of Marceline alive. Originally called Kansas Avenue, the main road through the downtown district was officially renamed Main Street USA in August 1998.
