Marceline Reservoirs

The lake is known for great bass, catfish and crappie fishing. Waterfowl hunting is allowed on lake. The lake also has a boat ramp and restrooms.

Marceline is home to two key reservoirs: Marceline City Lake and the Old Marceline City Reservoir.

Marceline City Lake, built in 1981, spans about 176 acres and is located on the Chariton County side. The lake was originally designed as a water supply source but today it’s a popular spot for fishing. The Missouri Department of Conservation maintains the area, offering amenities like a concrete boat ramp and parking. Fish species include largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and channel catfish.

The Old Marceline City Reservoir, located nearby in Linn County, covers roughly 65 acres. It also served as a water source and now supports recreational fishing and wildlife. Access is available via Lunar Drive.

Both reservoirs contribute to local water management and provide valuable outdoor opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
