Missouri Highway 36 “The Way of American Genius” carries more than 9,000 vehicles past the Marceline exit each day (approximately 4,500 in each direction). To help drive tourism into Marceline, especially from travelers who may not yet know about our Walt Disney connection and the many unique offerings in our town, the Marketing Marceline Committee has been exploring the idea of installing a nearby billboard. The closest available location for an eastbound-facing billboard is the old digital sign near our exit, which has been out of operation for several years. We’re in discussions with Robert Schmitt of Schmitt’s Building and Rental Center, about securing the eastbound-facing side to install a large vinyl wrap billboard, covering the old digital panels – a common and effective format. The rental cost is $150 per month, paid annually ($1,800), and the cost to print the vinyl wrap is estimated at $1,000, bringing the total project cost to $2,800. The installation is expected to remain in place and provide consistent visibility for approximately three years. The Marceline Area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Marceline are contributing to this project to renew our community’s presence along Highway 36, helping welcome visitors and support our local economy. While both organizations are committed to promoting Marceline, we’re inviting local businesses to join us in this effort through cash donations. Your financial support will help attract more visitors, stimulate local commerce, and ensure Marceline remains a vibrant and thriving destination. Together, we can make a lasting impact on our beloved town. If you are interested in contributing, please contact us, or send a check payable to Downtown Marceline, 207 N. Main Street USA, Marceline, MO 64658. Interesting Facts:According to MoDOT, the Average Annual Daily Traffic (AADT) going EASTBOUND past the Marceline exit on Highway 36 is 4,750 vehicles. Marceline and Brookfield’s Bell Game to feature a special drone show at halftime

Marceline and Brookfield's Bell Game to feature a special drone show at halftime | VisitMarceline.com

MARCELINE, Mo. — The annual Bell Game between Marceline and Brookfield will have a new twist this year as a company from Wisconsin will be performing a special show at halftime. This year there will be a drone show performed during halftime called the Northern Lights Drone Show. Marceline Senior Cheerleader Lola Kitchen was able to help set up the show, reaching out to several companies about bringing one to the Heartland. She contacted a company from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who usually charges almost $30,000 to put on a show, but was going to give the school a discount to just $10,000 After the students came up short of the goal, the drone pilots decided to waive the cost to the school district. “Lola made such a compelling pitch and it really spoke to our heart, and we just want to come out here and make some really good memories for everyone,” said Drone Pilot Leonor Ortiz. “It’s really nice how everyone in the community is like a family, and they really embraced the Bell Game. It’s very nice to be part of that community.” The halftime performance will use over 200 drones to put on a 360-degree show and will be viewable inside and outside Chester Ray Stadium. The performance will be football-themed and highlight both Marceline and Brookfield. Kitchens and the other cheerleaders are excited for the event, saying that they hope it will help add to the game and add another chapter to the storied rivalry. “I hope that it puts to perspective that this is such a big deal in these two tiny little towns that we can just have such an amazing halftime show,” Kitchen said. “It means a lot to me that the community is going to be able to see something and know that we’re still putting just as much effort into our team as we would have 20 years ago,” said Senior Cheerleader Avery Gordon. from: KTVO https://ktvo.com/news/local/marceline-and-brookfields-bell-game-to-feature-a-special-drone-show-at-halftime Watch the video Watch the Northern Lights Drone Shows “Marceline & Brookfield Bell Game” video here
